Okay things got a bit out of order when I went to publish these posts but here are Trip 2, Break 2 and Trip 3

Break 2

On day 8 of Trip 2 I hurt my knee pretty bad (torn meniscus) cancelling plans for a back packing trip for the break which was super disappointing and frustrating.  So instead Sam, Michelle Elske and I headed up to Tofino. The surf wasn't good so it turned into two days of beach sitting. They headed back on the Tuesday night but I stayed with my friend Alyson at her parents place until Thursday night.  They have a gorgeous house right on the beach so it was not all that hard to follow the MD's instructions and do nothing.
 Sunsets on their beach
View from my room at their place

Trip 2

Trip 2 - The second trip of the summer which would roughly follow the same ground as trip one with little variations.  The trip started with sun over top of us but incredible rainbows and lightening to the south.  We had a ripping sail down Haro Strait which was a great way to start a trip.
Had a birthday the first day so I cranked out owl cupcakes... Tristan and Michelle doing their best owl impressions.
We went through Active Pass and into the Strait of Georgia around 8- the lightening/storm sky was incredible and followed us for 2-3 hours.. never overtop of us thankfully but incredible to watch
 Owl Faces
Nightrun aft cabin table... charts galore and cupcakes hiding from the sweltering heat of the galley
We motered up against a headwind the entire night and got to Savary Island just after lunch where we went ashore for games and swimming.  Savary is a little island paradise of gorgeous beach houses and white sand beaches.

Michelle and I having a "WE ARE AT WORK!!!" moment
 Heading into Desolation Sound
I found my place!!! Melanie Cove and Melanie Point... We didn't actually go there because we didn't fit but we anchored in a gorgeous little cove near by
Day 4- Tenetos Lake... super nice and warm

Day 4/5 we were once again at Teakerne Arm Falls... rafted with the Grace.  I have no pictures of that but had one of the best times of the trip.. .Kailey ( the cook on the Grace) and I went in the Zodiac to the falls alone and showered and sat behind the falls and chatted and hung out for 1/2 hour.  It was gorgeous and amazing beyond words.
Heading back south after Teakerne the sun was relentless... suntarps went up and the galley was almost unbearable.
Day 6 we were anchored in the Fagen Islets.  Gorgeous Sunset while we had relay races.

And then just as the sun was just disappearing a family of Orcas swam close to the boat for about 1/2 hour. IT was a simply magical time.

My favorite meal of the trip..... I didn't have to make it!!!  Sam made Sunday Morning breakfast for me.
Not to many pictures of Day 7-10 but we continued to make our way south ... through picturesque Gabriloa Pass, Sunday Service in the Sunset at Thetis Island and the Chatham Island.  But we sailed, , shared Jesus, talked with trainees, sang, and laughed .... always.. most of all laughed

Trip 3

No computer time in break 2 equaled no blog post... but here I am in Port Hardy with not a whole lot to do on a holiday Monday so here are trips 2 +3.
Trip 3 started much the same as 1 and 2 as we left Victoria heading for Haro Strait and Georgia Strait.  But things changed up a bit when I got up at 5am and rather than continuing up the strait Sam took a right and headed up Jervis Inlet.  Sunshine Coast here we come.  We sailed leisurely up the strait and then literally sailed in circles while we waited for the tide at Malibu Rapids.  Once we made the rapids we entered one of the most gorgeous places I have seen on the coast.  Princess Louisa Inlet.

Just inside the inlet. Becs, Michelle and Sam dressed in MorphSuits for a kidnapping raid on the wilderness basecamp of Beyond Malibu.  My roommate Tina is the head guide coordinator there for the summer and we had promised to come sometime this summer and see her
They surprised her at camp and then she came out for dinner on the boat that night.

The inlet is amazing rock cliffs with waterfalls everywhere.  Tiny trickles, huge freefalls and the king at the far end.  Chatterbox falls.
A memorial to all those who have lost their lives in the park.

The falls are too huge to directly swim in but we froze in the runoff

Headingbackout of Jervis.  We ran until about midnight day three and then woke up early to start the run up to Savary.  We woke all the kids at 630 which they might have not been fans of But I was super stoked to have lots of compnay that early in the morning and raised all sail and had a sweet sail the way up.
Menu Planning- we rafted with the Grace at Teakerne and then headed further north
Orcas in Johnstone Strait- day 6
Docked at Alert Bay

Green House, nice porch, cozy chairs, no stairs

There is a native burial ground with many totems

Sunset Tracy Harbour- day 7

This fabulous guy

And my wonderful friend Bec GOT ENGAGED!!!!

Heading further north as we leave the protection of the island the feel became much more westcoasty... rugged shore and fog banks!!

Davis and Sam gutting some salmon

A humpback gave us a real show!!

Before waving goodbye and swimming away
we headed into a gorgeous rugged inlet and had our Sunday Service at anchorage

Day Nine we ran up to Burnett Bay ... This is a look at the entrance where we anchored after the fog lifted.  When we anchored and started zodiacing kids ashore you could not see any land even tho it was less than 200 meters away!!..
Some Bec/Tristan Pics

Lots of Sunshine Sailing
