After spending most of the long sunshiney weekend working on projects on home Niki and I headed out on the cloudy Tuesday for an mini adventure. She was staying in Vancouver so we met up half way and headed up to Pitt Lake. I had done with day trip with Rosie about 18 moths ago and was eager to do it again as it is a nice kayak/tromp combo. IT was cloudy but dry as we launched from Grant Narrows and headed up the estuary. The water was abit deeper than last time I had been there which was super nice as we didn't live in fear of bottoming out. We paddled for a bit and then pulled the boats up and made our way up the trail to the waterfalls for lunch. Then it was the trip in reverse and off to work for the night which was a bit of a shock after not seeing a soul the entire day to half the popluation of abbotsford deciding to to the ER that night!!
Twin Peaks
Niki in the Rubber Duck
Straight ahead for trail to waterfall. Trail to the Left for Bear Pinata
Rooty, soggy, mossy and boardwalks
Niki finding the way around the downed tree
The falls were much fuller and less accessable then when we were there in the fall but still super awsome
Healthy part of the lunch
And the unhealthy part of lunch =)
