Sorry for the lack of posting this month. To be honest there hasn't really been to  much to share this past couple of weeks. I sincerely love my job, the skills, the thinking, the people to brings me into contact with but occasionally you get a rash of weeks where it truly drains everything out of you physically and emotionally. I know I share sometimes humorous stories from work here but to be honest those are more the exception than the rule. The majority of days are filled with interacting with people having their "worst day ever". In a place where MI's and overdoses are common place and where when the adrenaline and the hecticness of the day winds down all you are left with is the memories. The soul wrenching memories of helplessness as you looked  into the defeated eyes of the woman who feels so worthless you know she will return to him. The sense of urgency you felt as you fought to save that child's mom, no matter the life she led, she was still his mother.  The angry denial of a wife was not ready to accept that that day, her husband would lose his battle with cancer. Its after all of that and more that a wonderful weekend with friends, the outdoors, time with God and just time, that one rejuviates and refreshes ready to come back and embrace the next set with new energy and joy.

Last weekend Bredan and Emily got married!! It was such a beautiful day. The one thing that Emily and Brendan love more than each other is the Lord and that shone through so much on this gorgeous day. It was a blast and I feel so blessed to have such awsome friends.

  2. I take my hat off to you Mel! I don't think I could ever be a nurse much less work in the ER. I brag about my friend who is a nurse in the ER and some of the crazy stories you have to tell! Keep it up!
