Wonderful Weeks off

I am most assuredly enjoying my time off. So nice to get up in the morning and be not to sure what is going to happen for the day. But somehow they do seem to fill up, but fill up with wonderful things that have gone by the wayside the past three months. Things like breakfast with friends, coffee with friends, walks with friends, dinner with friends, watching movies with friends.. yes.... to quote my mother I have become a social butterfly.. but hey this little Caterpillar hasn't seen much of a my friends in three months.. and great friends that they are they still love me!! It also has been Christmas so I have spent ++ time with my wonderful family. Christmas was lovely this year, same old traditions but with some new additions, like a little walking talking entertainer named Emily!! and Christmas Morning Service with my Oma. I was so glad my sister Amy could come down from Alberta and spend time with us, we had a lovely little out and about dates and good sister time

Christmas

Christmas Music
Christmas Shopping
Baking
Cooking
Eating
Opening Presents
Family Movie
Games
Reading of Luke Two
and then, only then it was
Christmas

I love everything about Christmas.... the music x3months, the finding the special surprises for people, then nummy food and pepermint mochas and most of all all the time with family(they are the best) and such good friends. But the best of all is after it all on Christmas Eve the Story of the Jesus is read and then it truly becomes a celebration of the Birth of Christ and Christmas Day can be such a day of Joy. Merry Christmas to each and everyone Love Mel

Interesting day.. and I now know one of the reasons why Fraser Health is missing ++ amounts of money.. I sat through four hours of the Director of Nursing aka ++$$$ (who was filling in for two lower peons in the hierarchy coordinators) telling a room of 30 people things they mostly already knew and probably could have been covered by a nice pamphlet. Welcome to the New Grad workshops!!!. Now the speaker was very nice, engaging and humorous which made the process entirely less torturous but still... That enlightening, empowering experience was then capped off by Clarice having a flat tire. Thankfully I was in the best of company for flat tires, my dear friend Rosie!!! Together we loosened, jacked, replaced, and tightened and drove off on a pipsqueak tire... all in full sight of ++ people who stared as they drove by.. I must say we did a crackup job of it.. only funny part I am sure to see was the two of us in our nice clothes sitting on the side of the road reading the manuals to ensure we were jacking the car up correctly!!. Thankfully the tire was still under warranty(good thing as they were installed yesterday) and soon we were on our merry way back to Chilliwack

Christmas Giving

I was so blessed today to be involved in the final shopping (for the fresh foods) and delivering of the special Christmas Hamper for the family adopted by my church. I was so overwhelmed as I looked at all the stuff this morning, everything from the cozy pjs to the canned corn to the Children's Bibles and books. The amount of love and care shown by the church family to these people that they don't even know just astounded me. In this day when so much of Christmas is so self-centered this was such a great way to give back and share the love of Christ with a family in need. While we don't know the circumstances of why they are in the situation they are in or what they will do with the gospel we have shared with them it doesn't matter. We are only responsible to do as Christ commanded us to to help those in need. In helping others we also can not help but reflect and be so thankful for what awesome blessing God has blessed us with.

Marcy's SUV all packed and ready to go.

Many Thanks

I can not promise this many posts in such a short time always=;)... but this is something that must be done now before it become obsolete. I have so many people to be sooo thankful for the past couple of years who have supported me in so many ways as I worked on and completed my degree. First of all I am so thankful to God who has given me this opportunity to pursue and fulfill this calling in my life. TO my wonderful parents- My mom who was always there to listen to me when I came home, to encourage me and just be the best mom ever. To my dad, always there to help me keep perspective on the big picture in life and really help keep all the other ducks in my life in line. You are truly a really blessing from the Lord. To the rest of my wonderful family.. for listening with interest as i told stories you really didn't want to hear, for encouraging me, for being quiet while I studied and slept and for generally putting up with me!!. to the rest of my extended family no one could ask for better aunts/uncles. To all of my friends you to are amazing.. putting up with me ignoring you for four months at a time and just making time for when I could. Love you all and I have told you it I hope!! .. Corina, I love it that we can share this together, Wieska thanks for the little treats and notes and ALL the advice. I could not have done it with out you all!!!

Birthday

Happy 26th Birthday Allan!! May God bless you and may you have a fantastic year!!!

Allan happens to be my most favorite brother in law!!! We are fiercely competitive more often than not but in the end of the day I am usually right (hehe).. But he is great and he makes my sister the most happiest girl in the world and at the end of the day that is all that matters!!

First Day of the Rest of My Life

Welcome to the rest of my life. I have decided to join the blogging world!! So this morning I woke up and for the first time in four years was not mentally calculating which days were school days, clinical days, and days assignments were due. Not saying that I haven't had breaks before but this morning it was final. My time in the UFV Bachelor of Science in Nursing is over. The next time I complete a task at the hospital I will initial MW RN!!! This has been an amazing journey the past four years as I truly learned an amazing amount of knowledge, met incredible friends, learned so much about myself and really grew up. I went from a 17 year old scared out of my mind on the first day of college to a (gasp) 22 year old nurse. So I hope that as I have a bit more time this will just be a place to reflect on life and share some of the adventure that life is!!
