Snow Shoeing

Last week the long awaited preplanned by two months snowshoe date that Larissa and I had off together finally came.  Unfortunately it also collided with the Pineapple Express and the most Extreme Avalanche Warnings of the Season eliminating any North Shore or Coquihalla  Adventures .  Taking all that into consideration and a early morning weather check we headed off to the dry, unavalanched Manning park.

Larissa trying out her new feet.

The Wind was whipping off the lake so we bundled up to start

We got into the the trees and started roasting!!!! Off came all those layers

We figure-eighted, around the first two lakes until we came to this sign

We didn't really understand why... so we kept going

THis trail looked so much nicer than the turning back.. and besides this way we were guaranteed no other people

Such a lovely day with this gorgeous girl

The snow was a little deeper!!!

These little guys kept us company and ate our chocolate
 Pretty Ice

We walked until we came to our second sign.. and its accompaniment
We stopped here and took out the stove and warmed up the delish chili that Larissa had brought
And ate it with some "snow" peas
We were warmed and ready to head back.  Our way back was a bit longer and had more detours then we anticipated causing Larissa to ever so politely express as we came back to the empty parking lot s " Wow we definitely saw more than anyone else up here today"!!
